The Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) is a pre-crossing carbon price adjustment strategy used by the European Union (EU) for calculating the cost of some imported goods to stop the import of products with high emissions into EU member countries.

  CBAM is one of The European Green Deal’s Fit For 551 initiatives that aims to help the EU reach its targets of at least a 55% net reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from 1990 by 2030 and net zero emissions by 2050.
