The Greenhouse Gas Protocol was launched in 1998 to develop and promote the use of consistent methods for GHG accounting and reporting. There are 7 standards in total, but usually businesses choose to start tracking their emissions by using the Corporate Standard, with the potential of applying other standards as well in the future.
